The deal
MotorLK is a membership for Sri Lanka’s motoring community: your garage, the race calendar, and soon a marketplace. Every member feature is free. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
Your account
- Sign up with your own phone number. It is your identity here.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in codes to yourself.
- You must be able to enter a contract to hold an account. If you’re under 18, get a parent or guardian on board.
Your content
Your cars, logs, photos, and results stay yours. You keep the copyright in every photo you upload.
When you make something public (your public page, a car, a photo in a meet’s moments, a listing later), you give MotorLK permission to show it anywhere on the site: on its own page, and also on the home page, in the directories, in featured spots, and in the preview card that shows when someone shares a MotorLK link. We use it to spotlight members and to show what MotorLK is about. This permission is free, it covers MotorLK only, and it lets no one else use your work.
Most photos we show carry a light MotorLK mark. Make something private and we stop showing it. Delete your account and your content goes with it. Copies other people have already saved or shared are out of our hands.
Play fair
- Don’t enter false details, fake results, or someone else’s data.
- Don’t upload content that isn’t yours to share, or that’s unlawful or abusive.
- Don’t scrape, spam, probe, or overload the platform.
Trademarks
MotorLK and its logo are ours. Every other name, logo and badge on the platform belongs to whoever owns it: manufacturers, championships, clubs, teams and broadcasters. They appear here to identify a car, a race or an organisation, and never to imply any endorsement or affiliation.
Verified marks
Verification badges (a verified result, a verified handle) are granted by our staff after checking, never self-served. We can remove a mark if the check stops holding. That’s the whole point of them.
Your photos
Every member can share photos from their Studio: shots from events, and a portfolio of their best. Your shots stay yours: you keep the copyright, and your name goes with every frame we show. You give MotorLK the same permission as for anything else you make public: to show your work anywhere on the site, with a light MotorLK mark.
Your shots show on your profile as soon as you upload them. Our crew picks which shots go on an event’s page. You can take any of your own shots down from your Studio at any time. If there is a problem we will talk to you first, and we may hide a shot or pause new uploads while we sort it out. Only upload shots you took yourself.
Moderation
We can remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, with a reason, on the record. If you think we got it wrong, write to us and a person will look at it.
If a photo on MotorLK shows you or your car and you want it taken down, write to us and we’ll look at it.
The service
We work hard to keep MotorLK fast and available, but it’s provided as is: features can change, and downtime can happen. When the marketplace opens, deals happen between members: check what you’re buying, meet safely, and remember we’re the venue, not a party to your sale.
Meets and events
Squads host their own meets here. The squad and its organisers run them, decide what happens on the day, and answer for it. MotorLK is the platform that lets car enthusiasts put a meet together, never the organiser of one. That holds for every meet on the platform, including any hosted by the MotorLK Squad, which takes part as a squad like any other and carries no more of the day than any other host does.
Anyone who turns up does so because they want to, and takes part at their own risk. No one accepts responsibility for damage, injury or loss: not the host, not the organisers, not the squad, not MotorLK. Drive within the law and within your limits. Public roads are not a track.
Liability, plainly
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for losses from using the platform, including deals made between members and anything that happens at a meet. Nothing here removes rights the law gives you that can’t be waived.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so on this page and update the date at the top. Using MotorLK after a change means you accept it.
